Beautiful 1978 KZ1000A Started this project some time ago and have run into health issues. Won't be able to complete it so want to let it go as is. 1978 KZ1000A. I do have the title for the bike. It is an out of state title and has never been transferred here in Texas. I had the bike all together and discovered via leak-down test that one of the oil scraper rings had bent over on installation so I took the head, cylinder and pistons off. Won't have the time or capability for the foreseeable future to finish. Have partsto put the top end back on. Coils and horn are missingHere is what has been done: powder coat frame with new steering stem, swing arm bearingspowder coat wheels with new wheel bearings (wheels off an LTD model)powder coat calipers and rebuilt with stainless brake lines and padsnew front and rear master cylindernew 630 o-ring chain and sprocketsnew turn signalsnew regulator/rectifier and modern blade-type fuse box.coils re-powered using a relay for full voltagefront and rear fenders powder coatednew metallic blue paint on tank, side covers and tail pieceengine powder coatedall new cam chain bits and chainnew engine sealscylinder head gone through; all cleaned, valves/seats lapped and new valve stem oil sealsalmost all fasteners through bike and engine stainless steel battery new and has been on float charger for awhilewiring harness gone through and electrical components workingnew headlight shell and bulbnew mirrorsnew grips handlebars powder coated I am probably forgetting other things. Seat is in great condition. Tires will pass inspection but are not new. Hate to get rid of this project bike as many hours of effort have gone into it butI will likely not be able to physically tackle it for the near future. Asking $2750 since I don't have a Texas title (do have original out of state title) and bike needs further work but am a bit negotiable.
