It is in great original condition, the frame and fork are very straight and solid, do dents or road rash on it at all, the fenders and tanks are very nice as well, no rust holes with only a little surface rust and a lot of original paint which should buff out nicely. I've been told this color blue is a 1946 only color, or possibly a two year color only. The original tank badges are in very nice condition and very hard to come by. The motor turns very smooth and the cylinders look very nice, it is missing the pistons, the cases look great with no cracks

I purchased this as a partially restored bike from an antique police motorcycle museum this year. Ended up going through the entire bike, new wiring harness, cables, oil lines and gas line, rebuilt the carb, new battery, as well as a variety of other things bike starts, runs and drives perfect! very little reproduction parts, all original sheet metal, The engine, trans and basically the entire bike is extremely fresh with extremely low miles. no leaks, no dents either. paint is gorgeous black and white 2 tone, chrome is fantastic condition, tires are original BECK and they are in beautiful condition, all the lamps work including the brake light and the indian head fender light. the handle bars are unique, they are an inch or 2 narrower than stock originals and look AWESOME on the bike I'm not sure if they are police bars or something like that, I've never seen a set like them before. horn works, brakes work perfect. My father and i work on antique indians very often and have done so for over a decade.

I offer this magnificent and rare 1951 Indian Chief Roadmaster directly from an esteemed local collection. While it is not known exactly how many motorcycles were built by Indian in the final years of Springfield production, estimates say that fewer than 500 left the works in 1951, making this an extremely rare machine by all accounts. This particular example has a very interesting history that has been well documented.
