All internal components have been engineered to deliver the maximum performance and packaged in order to position the engine at the ideal centre of gravity within the chromoly steel frame. In combination with the carbon fibre rear subframe and new WP AER 48 front fork, the FC 250 is one of the most technologically advanced 250 4T motocrossers ever developed. Features may include: EngineAll major components and shaft arrangements have been carefully designed and placed in specific positions that best suit the performance and handling characteristics of the FC 250. The 250 cc engine is not only light at 26.1 kg but also remarkably powerful with an overall power output of 46 hp at the output shaft. One way in which this was achieved was by engineering key components to produce the least amount of friction possible, reducing drag as a result.DOHC cylinder headThe DOHC cylinder head features finger followers with a DLC (diamond like carbon) coating resulting in minimal friction and optimal performance. These actuate large titanium valves (32.5 mm intake, 26.5 mm exhaust) which at the 14,000 rpm rev-limit open and close multiple times each second introducing fuel/air mixture to the carefully designed combustion chamber delivering efficient and optimal power throughout the rev-range. The cylinder head is now fixed to the frame using lightweight aluminium brackets saving 114 grams while keeping the same structural integrity.CrankcasesThe aluminium crankcases have been designed to house the internal components of the engine in the perfect position to achieve the ideal centre of gravity. Smooth 4-stroke torque and power in a much lighter and more compact chassis. A new precision-built frame offers improved agility, better bump absorption and optimum suspension functionality while only weighing 8.8 kg. New laterally-mounted head-stays increase handling agility and reduce vibration. All 2017 4-stroke models have new header pipes and shorter mufflers for maximum performance within the FIM noise limits. Enduro riders face some of the toughest conditions, always looking for positive traction to drive the bike forward. The 2017 range of 4-strokes have an optimised map-switch, which also activates the Traction Control feature. Features may include: WP Xplor 48 The WP Xplor 48 front fork is a completely new feature developed by WP Performance Systems specifically for enduro type riding. The forks consist of an open cartridge layout with a spring in each circuit and split damping functions. Compression can be adjusted from the left side and rebound on the right via clickers situated on the top of the fork tube. Additionally, with the standard pre-load adjuster, pre-load can be adjusted by the rider without the use of tools making the new system simple and easy to set up. WP rear shock The WP DCC rear shock is designed to provide advanced damping characteristics while keeping to a compact and lightweight design. The new rear shock weighs only 3.7 kg which is 0.36 kg lighter than the previous version. With a pressure balance inside the shock, damping is improved resulting in greater rider comfort and handling while the outer contour of the reservoir increases cooling. The component is also fully adjustable and matched to a linkage system with a specific geometry to deliver the best possible traction and absorption. Brembo brakes Class-leading Brembo callipers and controls with high quality GSK discs deliver superior stopping power instilling confidence in all situations. For MY17, the rear brake calliper uses a smaller piston diameter 24mm instead of 26mm, coupled with a 10mm longer rear brake lever the system delivers improved modulation and feeling. ODI lock on grips The ODI lock-on grip on the left side does not require gluing, while on the right, the vulcanised grip features an integrated throttle mechanism. Up for sale is a one owner 73 Husqvarna 250wr. The bike is in unbelievable shape considering the year and the fact that it is unrestored. The tank is very nice, although there are a few flaws. The white bordering the chrome has been touched up and there chrome itself isn't perfect. There are a few other marks but it is overall very respectable. The seat looks nice but it has had a few rips that have had repair attempts, which the pics reflect. The paint on the frame and engine is still pretty nice, and the fenders aren't beat up. The bike has a period correct skyway spark arrestor, and the exhaust pipe is still very nice. The original Magura grips and lever adjuster covers are still in place, the Akront rim decals re still in tact, and the owner replaced the tires with the Trelleborgs that originally came on these old Huskys. The bike starts in 1-3 kicks and runs awesome. It shifts fine, rides great, and the brakes work as they should. I have some spare carb parts, cables, a plastic air filter cover, a few misc gaskets, and the original owners manual. I also have the original cover that the owner bought with the bike back in 73'. This bike is not a perfectly restored showpiece, but it is one of the most complete, unmolested survivors that you will find. I've done my best to describe it with words and pictures.
