1989 Honda Pilot FL400, For Sale 1989 Honda FL400R Pilot and 14 trailer- $6500 obo. Up for sale is my very fine example of a 1989 Honda FL400R Pilot. It has a 400cc 2-stroke engine, 4-wheel independent suspension, and a continuously variable transmission (no shifting) with forward, neutral and reverse. All the controls are located on the butterfly steering wheel, so even someone who does not have the use of their legs can pilot this Pilot. Extras: - ATV Racing long-travel front suspension with Axis shocks - 2 sets of tires and rims ITP Holeshots (almost brand new), the other set are sand tires - Powerblok clutch - 39mm PWK Keihin carb - Aftermarket exhaust - ATV Racing chrome front bumper and polished skid plate - Digatron electronic gauge that displays RPM and EGT (exhaust gas temperature) - 5 point racing harness (safest ATV ever sold!) - Body plastics are in fantastic condition - Genuine Honda shop manual - Stash of spare parts, including extra cylinder head, extra spark plugs, gaskets, a 6-pack rack, extra air box, air filters, reed cage, carb jets, original bumper and skid plate, etc. - Also included are the parts to make an air filter pre-filter (pic with black pipe and red filter) - Lots of other little goodies, too numerous to mention over $6500 invested in the Pilot alone. Also included in the sale price is my 14 single axle trailer. It is large enough to hold the Pilot and probably a couple more ATVs. The trailer is about 18 month old and has less than 250 miles on it. It was originally purchased for over $1600. It comes with the spare tire pictured. The Honda FL400R is a serious off road machine and not intended for beginning riders. It is VERY fast! (60-70mph). That being said, it has a 5-point racing harness and wrist restraints, so it is also one of the safest ATVs ever made. Im only getting rid of it because I have a medical condition that will not permit me to ride it. This machine is ready to ride and has a freshly rebuilt top-end with only about 3 hours of run time on it. Ive got over $8000 invested in this setup, but you can pick it up for only $6500.
