The Honda GL 1800 is the benchmark for all Touring motorcycles . With 40 years of experience and thousands upon thousands of Gold Wings on the road , Honda knows how to build a topnotch Touring rig . As soon as you sit on the cushy 29 inch tall seat you can tell its built for the long hauls . The folks at Honda really focused on the passenger comfort level too and if your passenger is happy , guess who gets to stay out and ride longer . The wind protection is amazing , the windshield is adjustable to your liking and your body does not get beat up by the wind turbulence . To me, the motor and chassis combo make this bike the ultimate touring machine . It is hard to imagine that a 900 pound motorcycle is so agile but it is . The aluminum box section frame is more like a sportbike and the corning , whether at high or low speeds , is amazing . The 1832 cc liquid - cooled , horizontally - opposed 6 cylinder is legendary for seemless power and longevity . The flat 6 is ultra smooth and creates a super low center of gravity which adds to the handling factor . I saw one at Bike Week in Daytona last year with 410,000 miles on it and still going strong ! Of course the Gold Wing is loaded radio , Ipod docking station , suspension leveling system , cruise control and a handy reverse gear . This candy red and silver GL has only 4600 miles on it .
