Believe it or not, it has been 15 years since the introduction of the first-generation CRF450R motocross bike. Not only has this bike been a huge success on the showroom floor, and in competition around the world, but the CRF450R also took home eight-consecutive Cycle World Ten Best trophies between 2002 and 2009, and remains one of the most winning models in the 40 years those awards have been handed out. For 2017, Honda has completely revamped the big CRF from top to bottom. Among the changes are an all-new Unicam engine with improved power and torque across the rev range. Significant changes to the cylinder head include the use of a finger rocker arm for increased valve lift, and oval-coil cross-section valve springs, the combination of which allows a lower engine height, plus makes the mill more compact and gives it a lower center of gravity. Additionally, the head has a narrower included valve angle (reduced from 21.5 to 19.5 degrees) for a straighter shot into the combustion chamber and improved burn from the mixture. Intake valves are now 2mm larger at 38mm. A new piston combined with a revised combustion chamber raises compression from 12.5 to 13.5:1, new four-hole oil jets for piston lubrication, and a new dual-stage scavenge pump reduce friction enough that oil volume has been reduced from 1,490 to 1,250cc; the lubrication system no longer uses two different oils and reservoirs for engine and gearbox. A new clutch, airbox, and exhaust system round out engine changes, while transmission ratios and final-drive gearing have been altered for the new spread of power.
Give Them A Great Start.Bet you remember your first motorcycle ride like it was yesterday. Bikes are a great part of life—they make everything a little more fun and a little more memorable. So when it's time to get your young Red Rider on his or her first bike, make sure you pick a machine they'll have nothing but great memories on: A Honda CRF50F.The CRF50F offers up an unbeatable combination of features: Its tough, reliable four-stroke engine develops smooth, easy-to-use power. Its three-speed transmission uses an automatic clutch, so a rider learns to shift, but never has to worry about stalling. Its tough suspension stands up to youthful enthusiasm. And for adults, the CRF50F makes sense too: an adjustable throttle limiter lets you tailor the power to the appropriate skill level, and the proven reliability means more time riding and less time taken up by maintenance and repairs.
The Right Size For Fun.Here's one of the best parts about choosing an off-road motorcycle from Honda. You don't have to pick one that's too big, or one that's too small. Because with a whole range of models, from mini to mighty, you're sure to find one that's just the perfect fit in terms of both size and performance.Take our CRF110F, for example. In terms of seat height and weight, it's between our CRF125F and our CRF50F. And it offers a 110 cc air-cooled engine that's super reliable and built to deliver the kind of power your young Red Rider needs. In addition, the CRF110F features both an effortless electric starter and a kick starter, as well. And it all teams up with our four-speed transmission with automatic clutch that's been proven in thousands of bikes, so younger riders never have to worry about stalling or a handlebar-mounted clutch. The CRF110F is a great off-road, fun bike that younger riders are going to love. And, better than that, they're going to remember all the fun they had riding it—and with you—for the rest of their lives.
Every off-roader wants the light weight, crisp handling, and razor-sharp performance of a racebike. But everyone also wants it to be easier to ride, more forgiving, and offer the reliability of a machine that's not on the ragged edge. Oh yeah, and it can't cost a million bucks, either. Well, you're in luck, because Honda's CRF250X offers the best of both worlds, with none of the drawbacks.Based on our popular and podium-friendly MX racer, the CRF250X is powered by a four-stroke Unicam® engine modified for optimum off-road riding. We've also specially tuned the suspension for the trails, and given the rugged transmission wide-ratio gearing to handle whatever conditions you come across. Then there's the electric starter that puts you on the fast track with the push of a button. So take a look at the CRF250X. We think you'll like what you see.
It's Time For Some Fun.Everyone knows that Honda makes awesome dirt bikes. Our CRF motocrossers have won countless championships, and our off-road machines conquer Baja and the Grand National Cross Country races. But here's the best news yet—that Honda quality and engineering trickles down to our smaller bikes too, and the CRF125F is a perfect example. The next size up from our CRF110F, it's the perfect choice for both young riders and smaller adults. Loaded with features designed to make trail riding a relaxing, no-hassle experience, it's also pure Honda when it comes to reliability and durability. And when it comes to looks, the CRF125F takes its styling cues right from our full-on motocross bikes like our CRF450R and CRF250R. An electric starter makes it easy to get underway, while a four-speed transmission gives you all the control of a full-sized bike.
