Get ready to turn heads when you ride this bike around: she's a beaut. Collector's bike with a few features that were exclusive to that year, including the original squared exhaust and the single reflector on the front fender.This bike was found disassembled in a garage a few years back, with original parts were in boxes. It was restored by a small local shop that specializes in vintage Honda bikes, where I bought it 2 years ago. It was a complete rebuild with the original parts, with the following work completed:-Frame sanded and repainted-New fork seals and dampening oil-Both carburetors taken apart, thoroughly cleaned, rebuilt with all new kits and properly tuned-Engine valve clearances set to correct factory spec, the ignition point surfaces sanded and cleaned with the ignition timing adjusted-Wheel spokes trued -New Shinko 712 series tires-New drive chain-New factory repro grips-New throttle, clutch and brake cables-New brake lever, clutch lever and cable adjusters-New petcock, fuel lines and fuel filter-Serviced all wiring, cleaned/ inspected all the connections-Tank cleaned out, old liner removed (was chipping off), then new liner added-New oil filter, spark plugs and plug bootsIn May 2016, I just dropped a new battery in and tuned up the bike, including cleaning the carbs and adjusting the points. Starts and idles good, and runs great out on the road. The charging system, all switches, lights and indicators are fully functional.Things to know (because there are always things to know about an old bike):- The original odometer/speedo had to be replaced and the original mileage is unknown. I bought a CL350 odometer/speedo separately that I can provide with the bike if you want it. I just decided to leave them off because I liked the look of the bike without them, but it's fairly easy to mount them on the bike again. Mileage-wise, this bike has less than 300 miles on it since the restoration -- only used it for a short commute to/from work occasionally.- Seat and the handlebars are not original, went for a more cafe look with the lower handlebars -Chrome shines up great, but there are some rust freckles when you look closely (it's the original 45 yr old chrome)-Tank has some scratches (on top of the tank, see photos -- not from being dropped, just paint flaws)- Headlight trim has a scuff on it, was there before I owned it (see photos) Walkaround video is here: s:// /watch?v=JqU-pQXskG8

I'm selling the bike for a friend. Its been in storage since 2001 when he titles it in Nevada. it was last licensed in California in 1993 (lic# 13G0525). The california plate is still on it. it needed a few small items, the rear chain was frozen so I fitted a new one. The tires are at least 15 years old, possibly older. it has 4488 original miles on it. it has a new battery, it has no tools. There is a small dent in the top of the fuel tank that's hard to notice in pics, the paint in that area is not marked. The bike run's and shifts well, probably needs a tune up after all this time.

This Honda CL72 250 Scrambler was meticulously restored by its prior owner. It was my intention to license/title and ride it, but it is so nice that it should go to a private collector or a museum. The motorcycle has never been ridden since its restoration. It was started once on the previous owner on its center stand. He indicated the motor ran fine and that the transmission shifted fine and the motor ran good. I too recently started it on its center stand and the motor ran fine without any unusual noises, misfiring, or stalling. The Honda has many NOS parts including brake pads, spokes, spokes, tank pads, muffler guards, alternator cover, speedometer and other miscellaneous parts. All chrome parts have been professionally resurfaced and are in excellent condition. The front and rear fenders are also NOS and have been powder coated. The fuel tank and side covers have been powder coated also. The tank has a few dings in it that were not noticed prior to its restoration. The original gas cap also has a ding in it. This exquisite Honda was built from the ground-up. The frame and all other black parts were powder coated. The rims and tires (Cheg Shin) are in like new excellent condition. The motor was totally rebuilt by a well-known vintage Honda Mechanic. The Honda looks new with the exception of the dings on the fuel tank and cap as noted. The Honda needs some final sorting out to ride if you wish. The wiring is intact, but needs to be connected properly for headlight, tail and brake lamps to work properly. Also, the original horn (included) needs to be installed. The Honda will be sold with a Bill of Sale. The prior owner gave me a Title (shows a prior owner and a transferred owner) that was originally issued by the State of Illinois. The Frame number is CL72-1104932 which matches the number on the Title and the Engine number is CL-721105011. I will include the Title with the Bill of Sale and make a copy of it available to any interested bidder prior to the close of the Ebay auction. I have not licensed/titled the motorcycle in my name and I cannot guarantee that you will be able to title it. It is sold as is, where is, without any guarantees of operational status or title. You are welcome to inspect it prior to sale. Shipping (if necessary) is the responsibility of the Buyer. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required at the close of the auction. The balance is due within 3 days in the form of cash, cashier's check or wire transfer. The Honda will not be released until my Bank confirms final payment. No expense was spared to restore this beautiful motorcycle. It needs to find a rightful and good home where it can be preserved and enjoyed for now and posterity.
