1981 Honda CBX in Magnum Silver Metallic. One of, if not the finest example of Honda’s legendary 6 cylinder sport touring Superbike. Excellent condition. Period correct Kerker exhaust system installed by original owner shortly after purchase. (I have the original exhaust system at additional cost if you would like them). Original keys. Runs perfectly. Smooth, fast, responsive rocket power. 24,800 original miles. This is not a "school bike". Originally purchased by a Honda mechanic who put most of the miles on the bike. Then, it went into a private collection, and from there into my personal collection. The original mechanic owner must have had a connection with the Honda sales rep at the time because rare accessories adorn this beauty, including: OEM fork stabilizers, fairing windshield high speed stabilizer, passenger backrest (not mounted on bike, and is available at additional cost if interested). Both saddle bags have the rare, original liner and divider pieces. A true Honda classic in excellent condition.

Please bid only if truly interested in purchasing this bike. Up for sale is this 1979 CBx. Vin # 2000111 with the original engine. Bike has been sitting and will need the typical fluids changed and brakes bled. Put a good battery in it (not included) and it spins over great. Bottle fed some fuel to it and it started and ran. Went thru all the gears. Carbs will need going thru as they were leaking from non-use. Paint is original and shines very well. Corbin seat. Inside of tank is black from old fuel but will clean quite well as there is almost no signs of rust. MISSING ITEMS: Headlight and bucket, both side covers and turn signals. There are just a few wires up front that do not have factory ends, they were cut... I have clear title and key. I am 2 nd owner of this CBX , Originally purchased in Hickory NC at Honda of Hickory [ have original key fob] in may of 81. Original owner rode it often putting aprox 18.600 miles on it . in 91 on a ride to Grandfather Mountian the rear caliper stuck and he had to nurse it home . He then parked the bike , removed battery , drained carbs , and filled tank full of Amaco premium fuel and covered bike with blankets . That is how I found it after searching for him for over 3 years. I have ridden and showed this bike over last 5 years,1st place Spenser train museum show 2010 , 2nd place Vintage days Mid Ohio 2010. 2nd place VJMC Nationals in Helen GA in 2013. Check pictures over closely this bike is near perfect no corrosion on any bolt runs and rides super , Does have normal 79 clutch chatter at idle. Only thing mechanical is volt gauge does not read correctly and left fork seal leaking slightly have new ones to go with bike if you desire to change . Bike charges at 3,000 rpm at 12.6 volts gauge shows 10.5.
