I very recently bought this from a friend in town as I LOVE the period correct modifications with the bags and the matching windscreen. This 76 Honda CB550 K2 is a very nice survivor condition classic. Problem I am having is I really have no place to store this as I have a collection of classic 2-strokes already......I hate to let it go, but space is a premium in my 3 car garage... This Honda does start and run, but will need the carbs checked, possibly tires and some small tuning as it has been sitting for some time. Second owner. Only 8300 ORIGINAL MILES. Very "mild cafe". Parts to turn the bike back to factory are included. I bought this bike a couple years ago from a 70+ year old man who bought it brand new in late 1978/early 1979. This is the SOHC Single Over Head Cam. Last year of it I believe. The original owner rode the bike about 300 miles a year, then cleaned it, waxed it, and put it back away at the end of each season. New tires. Newer battery. ORIGINAL SEAT COVER! Those are worth $500 by themselves. This bike even has the factory yellow paint on the bolts from when it was built! I am including everything in the pictures. The only thing that isn't completely original is the exhaust. The original owner changed to this exhaust in the late 70's. I was able to track down 2 or the original 4 exhaust pipes from a local dealer that had some "take offs" from 1978. If you can find the other 2, this bike would be nearly a museum piece. I've never seen a 550K in this good of condition before. I get attention everywhere I go with this bike. A real head turner! Starts and runs fantastic. 1978 CB550 has been fixed up and is ready for the road!!!!These pictures don't do this bike justice!!!! The color of this bike is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Deep metallic blue glimmers in the sun!!!!Impress your friends and enjoy this vintage bike. Ride it on the weekends or back and forth to work every day!!!!This classic Honda is ready to enjoy!!! Lined gas tank, new petcock, rebuilt carbs, new air filter in the factory air box, new ignition points, rebuilt front brakes, tires are near new and in excellent condition, super nice seat, new low bars, new cables, new grips, brand new paint job (very pretty!!!), 4 into 1 custom exhaust with brand new muffler.It has an early style taillight installed. They are more attractive, smaller/less bulky taillight found on early CB750's and CB550's.The bike has a dent on the back of the front fender. There are holes for the factory emblems if you want to put them on the side panels, but none are included. Missing the sticker for the indicator lights.Engine has some flaked off paint here and there.Does NOT have turn signals. Needs a new horn. This is a great bike and a great way to get into classic/vintage motorcycles!!!! Please look at pictures closely to see any other imperfections I may have missed. Ask questions before buying!!! 1978 HONDA CB550K IN GREAT CONDITION READY FOR RESTORATION. Bike does not run! Engine turns fine, gas tank appears to be in very nice shape as well as the chrome. I never attempted to start this bike. This is a very nice complete example ready to be restored. Bike came in from California. The headlamp trim ring has rash, carbs will most probably need to be rebuilt, the front fender is dented on the rear bottom portion, right rear turn signal broke off on the weld and the seat has a tear on the seam on the right side.
