I am selling a 1999 Harley-Davidson FXR2 with around 4,100 miles on the clock. This one is in 'Stone Cold Blue'... this first batch of Harley CVO's represented the beginning of a new era in their line-up. Built from the frame up entirely by two factory employees and NOT run down the assembly line. Only 276 were made in this color as opposed to the 625 made in 'Arresting Red'. Overall stock condition with the exception of some chrome visors, a lay-down license plate holder, low back rest with pad, a small windscreen, toolbag and matching billet hand grips. Most all of the fasteners have been replaced with smooth, chrome capped head fasteners that really add a lot to the overall sleek, clean finish. Definitely a beauty of an FXR to be sure. We all know these bikes to be the best riding / handling motorcycle the factory ever put on the highway and these FXR CVO's were the finest of them all. This motorcycle has been in temperature controlled storage for the past 5 years or so and has not been on the road since then. New H / D battery. Never been in the rain, sleet, snow, salt, etc. The overall condition of the paint, chrome and aluminum attest to that. Just a beauty of a motorcycle! 1999 FXR 2 'Stone Cold Blue' (only 276 in this color unlike the 600+ in 'Arresting Red') and with 4,100 miles. This is the MoCo's first CVO motorcycle that it produced. Each of these motorcycles has been completely put together by a team of two Harley technicians, from start to finish at the factory and NOT using the assembly line approach like the rest of the models. This heralded Harley's new Custom Vehicle Operation division which defines the term 'factory custom' and still continues on strong today some 17 years later. Around $8k in chrome added onto each bike from a standard FXR (1994 was the last year of the FXR model run, until the 1999 FXR 2's came out) is what they used to say when these first hit the streets. In addition to all the factory original CVO items that are on the bike, this one has had most all of it's fasteners changed over to smooth, chromed cap head fasteners. Also added is a small H/D smoked windscreen. Nicer than new at $10,900 ... NOT the $22 - $23k you would have had to put down when originally sold. Truly a collector motorcycle, these CVO FXR's will continue to be more and more desirable as time marches on and the numbers decrease. In the opinion of many you will be riding the best motorcycle the MoCo has ever built! Having had the highly regarded Eric Buell as the the lead engineer on the FXR's, it's easy to see why these are still so sought after all these years later. Buell continues to make some real mind blowing high-performance motorcycles and is highly respected for his engineering genius.
