Even your eyes can t stop wandering on this machine. Look at the big windshield and nostalgic headlamp and you see a strong resemblance to the original King of the Highway. You could get lost for a good, long time just looking at the classic styling details. What you might not notice is how far it s all come. You now have 103 cubic inches of High Output power. Dual halogen headlights. One-touch saddlebags. Reflex linked brakes with ABS. And plenty more where that came from. Let yourself go. Features may include: ControlHere are a few of the ways Project RUSHMORE started out as a way to re-think the venerable Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycle from fender tip to fender tip. It s turned into a never-ending quest. Each year the going just gets better for the rider who points one of our bikes down the highway. As you might guess, a big part of the effort has gone into finding ways to help riders pass faster, stop quicker, take curves tighter and see further at night. Here are a few of the ways Project RUSHMORE is currently adding the control you feel in the saddle: Reflex Linked Brakes with ABS, Daymaker LED headlamps and fog lamps, brighter Tour-Pak® luggage carrier lighting, brighter turn signals, brighter brake lights, and a steering head with stiffer front forks. The bikes are better then ever. Project RUSHMORE control. An invitation to see how good you can be, written in Milwaukee steel.FeelStarting with the days when early riders bolted plastic windshields to their machines and began crisscrossing the country, the Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycle has already gone places no one could have imagined. We began Project RUSHMORE to discover what comes next. When it came to rider comfort, that meant getting in the saddle and putting in miles. Thousands of miles, over every sort of pavement the road could throw at us. Experiencing every sort of condition Mother Nature could throw at us. We used the info to dial in airflow, passenger space, back rests, seat textures, legroom and hand controls and anything else rider and passenger feel out there. Then hit the road to test and re-test it all over again. That s how we can say with confidence we re building the most comfortable machines on the road. Ride one. You ll say the same thing.StyleWith a name like Project RUSHMORE, you know we were aiming high when we set out to rethink what riders experience on our Touring machines. These weren t just motorcycles. They re part of the American landscape. So we set about perfecting the way they work, feel and look t

2003 Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle Road King, FLHRSEi - 100th Anniversary Screamin' Eagle Road King A 103 cubic-inch (1690cc) Twin Cam V-Twin is tuned to provide more than 100 ft lbs. of torque to the latest creation from the CVO workshop, the Screamin' Eagle Road King. Approximately 3,350 examples of the 2003 Screamin' Eagle Road King will be manufactured. Based on the popular FLHRI Road King model, the 2003 CVO Screamin' Eagle Road King features a host of exclusive custom features and accessories from the Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories catalog. The heart of the 2003 Screamin' Eagle Road King is the engine, created by combining Screamin' Eagle Big Bore cylinders and a stroker flywheel and rod assembly to the standard Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 88 engine. Bore and stroke grows from 3.75 x 4.00 inches to 3.87 x 4.37 inches, while displacement is boosted from 88 ci (1450cc) to 103 ci (1690cc). Compression is bumped up slightly, from 8.9:1 to 9.0:1. The standard EFI system is reprogrammed to match the increased displacement while retaining the crisp throttle response of the stock Twin Cam 88 EFI engine. The drivetrain is reinforced with a high-performance hydraulically actuated clutch, a custom oil cooler and a high-strength final drive belt. The result is a motor that meets 50-state emissions and sound regulations yet pumps out 100 ft lbs. of arm-stretching V-Twin torque at 3500 rpm, a 20 percent increase over the stock Twin Cam 88 engine. The engine will be available in silver with chrome trim, fitted with chrome Touring Mufflers with chrome billet end caps. Custom touches include the hand-painted Centennial Gold finish with Vivid Black and Burgundy accents and a gold leaf fuel tank emblem. The frame, swingarm and footboard supports are powder coated in matching Centennial Gold. Wheels are solid, bright-polished spun aluminum.

2006 Harley-Davidson Road King Custom, Road King - As anyone who?s ridden one will tell you, a Harley-Davidson touring rig always makes the road good. This year, it makes the road even better. All models get a reduced-effort clutch, a 50-amp charging system and more passenger room. And for the first time ever, H-D custom paint is available on select touring bikes. Stunning new color combos are sure to treat the eyes right. For 2006, the ears are in for a special treat, too. On all radio-equipped models, riders will be greeted with a new Advanced Audio System by Harman/Kardon designed to Harley-Davidson specifications. New speakers, AM/FM/WB/CD/MP3 and up to 80 watts of power. It?s sound you?ve never before heard on a motorcycle. What?s more, it offers greater versatility than most car audio systems. Through Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories, you can add XM satellite radio, a 160-watt amplifier, and even a CB radio. All can be integrated right into the stereo. So what?s holding you back? There?s an entire continent out there waiting to be explored. The Road King Custom arrives on the scene with the power and style of a traveling rock-and-roll show, drawing fans from all over. No one can resist a glimpse of the swept-back chrome visor atop pullback beach bars. It?s styling as only Harley-Davidson can push it. Clean leather bags with hidden supports and latches. Electro-formed, chromed metal fuel tank emblems. Streamlined floorboards and passenger pegs. Tank-mounted stretched chrome console. The sweet sounds of a Twin Cam 88 powertrain. And with the Custom?s smooth-riding, refined chassis and lowered air-adjustable rear suspension, this is definitely one show that always hits the road in style.
