If the listing itself didn't catch your attention than you probably have limited knowledge of older Harleys in general, or a newer motorcycle enthusiast in the market for a purchase as these specific bikes in this condition (never crashed or hit), are very rare! PLEASE, SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY RESPOND. Bike will only be sold to a buyer with the ability to come to my home in Southern California in person or to a representative of the buyer in person to show me the money, take a test ride and pay in cash.No other forms of payment will be considered or taken. This is an 1986 Custom FXRS Low Rider with Center Case Upgrade just done by Palm Springs Harley Davidson, CA. After Powder Coating and other Valve Train Headwork which I provided parts for, total cost to me was $4,200 for the rebuild. The work was done in a certified Harley Davidson Dealership, it was done to spec in the proper way so that the numbers on the Original Frame, and Original Engine are still matching. This is a time consuming process since Harley will not machine or ship the Properly Numbered Center Cases until they receive the stock Primary Side Center Case from an authorized Harley Davidson Repair Department after the engine has been torn down. There is less than 100 miles on the upgrade and complete rebuild of engine, primary, Transmission. Electrical on handlebar switches, Ignition and wiring. Cylinders and pistons required only + .20 oversized centerline boring, recent top end rebuild with TRW forged pistons was done 500 miles prior to upgrade of Center Cases, so pistons only required new rings with the upgrade. The Frame is in perfect geometric condition since the bike has never been involved in a crash of any kind. It also has brand new Progressive Suspension 444 Series Rear Shocks (Lists at $649, I paid $495 with my discount). I have the receipts showing most all of the parts and work done. The 1986 was the only true rubber mount, full floating, Bottom Breather ever built out of the series of both 1st and 2nd runs of it's production. Often touted as "The Best Handling Harley Davidson ever built". There are too many aftermarket/custom products and work done to list but, I can honestly say the Frame, Front and Rear Fenders, and Rear Brake Master Cylinder are the only stock items on the bike I am aware of. Forged Pistons, Head Porting, Manley Oversized Exhaust Valves, Jims Hydro-solid Lifters, Rich Products 2 into 1 ThunderHeader, ART Transmission 5 Speed Gear Set, larger Rear Sprocket, 1 1/2" Rear Belt Drive, Enclosed Chain Primary w/ Arlen Ness Cover, etc. etc. etc. I have owned this bike for the last 15 years, I'm 56 years old now and am selling this bike only because I will be putting the money towards the purchase of a Street Glide. This has been a fantastic bike that is both very fast and reliable. I have had nothing but great experiences riding this bike over the years. Both a bar hopper yet surprisingly comfortable enough to spend hours in the saddle. I've ridden to parts of Northern CA, all over AZ and Nevada on this bike, doing 500+ miles a day on numerous occasions. In all these years, this bike has never left me stranded on the side of the road, requiring a tow, and although very street friendly, is the fastest 80ci. bike I have ever ridden, it walks away from most larger Cubic Inch bikes with ease. Others have concurred.
