The only stock parts I do not have are the OEM wheels (sold those to custom bike builder Jessie James). 12,106 miles. Immaculate, never down. Not ridden since 2002. Stored indoors, serviced and started regularly. Includes an autographed copy of my book "Ducati Corse World Superbikes " by Jim Gianatsis & Alan Cathcart. I am a well-known Ducati enthusiast and collector. This bike is from my extensive Ducati Superbike collection and this was the first Ducati I had ever owned. Because of its incredible handling, performance and beauty, I have been a devoted Ducatista ever since. I am only selling it now for needed space in my collection, replaced by 2 more rare 2nd Generation Ducai Superbikes. This was one of the first 2nd Generation Ducati 916 Superbikes brought into the USA in the summer of 1994 and was sold to the original owner by Pro Italia, Glendale, CA. I purchased this bike from the original owner about 6 months after his purchase in like new condition. Within the first year I brought the bike back to Pro Italia where I proceed to upgrade it with the best performance parts of the era. Earl Campbell, the former owner of Pro Italia, upgraded the engine using Ducati Corse Hi-Compression 926cc Piston Set (from the 955cc Corse Race Bikes) and Race Cams, Jerry Branch Ported Heads w/ Big Valves. Runs perfect on 93-octane pump gas. I added the lighter / lower geared 520 Chain Kit, Carbon Fibre Lowers, and the front ISR 6-Piston Brakes which were far superior to the Brembos of that time, higher grip Braking Rotors. And I added the beautiful White DyMag Magnesium race wheels which cost about $3,000 at the time and are about 5 lbs lighter each, than the stock Aluminum wheels. I also replaces the stock Show Rear Shock with a dual adjustable Ohlins Resevoir Race Shock and 1-step softer coil-over spring. The exhaust system is a Fast by Ferracci full race system with Carbon Fibre Silencers from Termignoni, And Eraldo Ferracci personally chipped the bike's computer ECU with the mapping he was running in Larry Pegram's and Matt Maladin's Ferracci Ducati AMA Superbikes that year. I rode the bike regularly up to 2002. All factory required servicing and recalls have been performed. And since then it has been essentially parked indoors in my collection. The battery is kept charged, it has fuel stabilizer in the tank and I start it every month to keep it fresh. I last serviced and rode it up to the Rock Store about 9 months ago. So its ready to ride. One of my best buddies is also 916 owner since new, and he still rides his regularly today and loves it, and his bike now has over 60,000 miles on it even not much maintenance . If you appreciate and are looking for one of the best Ducati Superbikes ever, in great condition, upgraded with the best performance parts of the era with a rich history, this bike is for you. ________SEPARATE SALE - 12/05/14 - WHEELS NO LONGER AVAILABLE, SOLD TO MICHAEL H.
