This 2014 Ducati 1199 Superleggera was sold new on July 2, 2014 at Fox Powersports, the Ducati dealer in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The bike has been under the care of Fox Motorsports since new. It’s never been ridden and has always been properly stored in a climate-controlled facility, connected to the included Ducati factory battery trickle charger and on the front/rear stands. The fuel was fully drained from the bike when new and the clutch/brake fluid has been changed due to our meticulous, proper-storage routine. Additionally, the oil/filter was changed in November of 2016, when the ‘CR122 Clutch’ recall was sorted at the Ducati dealership. This Ducati is in flawless condition. The Ducati 1199 Superleggera is a highly exclusive sportbike of just 500 models made. It is cranking out 200 horsepower, is based on the Panigale R model but made with titanium, magnesium and carbon fiber which make it a lightweight motorcycle with a dry weight of 341.7 pounds. It has a lightweight Ergal rear sprocket and World Superbike-spec 520 chain, Ohlins FL916 front forks with fully-machined bottom legs and a titanium spring-equipped Ohlins TTX36 shock, a new Inertial Platform system to manage the Ducati Wheel Control and the Ducat Traction Control (DTC) and the Engine Brake Control (EBC) is optimized with an automatic calibration of rear-tire size and final transmission ratio. Obtain the unobtainable. Even in the rarified air of Ducatis, the Superleggera is extraordinary. While the stock Panigale R tips the scales at a svelte 414 pounds fully fueled, the Superleggera’s lightweight materials diet has stripped away over 19 of those pounds. “Light makes right” is a somewhat cliche saying in motoring circles. But it’s especially true when it comes to motorcycles, where shaving off just a pound here and there translates to lower lap times, better handling and quicker acceleration. Lopping off over a dozen pounds results in substantial upticks on all those fronts. Where did the weight go? Carbon fiber body panels replace the heavier plastic bits found on the R, the rear subframe holding the seat on the Superleggera is also carbon fiber while the R makes do with aluminum. The main frame holding the steering head is sandcast magnesium on the Superleggera. The R’s headstock is also magnesium, but it’s over two pounds heavier. An Akropovic titanium exhaust system is standard, further cutting weight, all the fasteners on the bike are either titanium or lightweight Ergal to save grams. The rear shock spring? Titanium. Wheels? Machined magnesium. Carbon fiber is everywhere, as are several bits clearly machined for lighter weight where they might be cast on the Panigale R. Inside the roaring eight-valve L-twin, titanium exhaust valves, a lightened crank and other race-bred aides push power to 200 horses. And don't forget the Ohlins TTX36 rear shock and race exhaust.
