This is a super clean and well functioning gen 1 Monster. We are original owners (my 90 year old father). It got a lot of options when it was new, including carbon fiber fairing and side air scoops, high pipes, and miscellaneous aluminum trim pieces. The bike has never been down and has been totally reliable for all 16 years. Recent maintenance includes a new battery and new belts. Tires are not old either. Mileage is 16,500. Clutch and 5 speed transmission are good. Jetting remains stock, the bike runs well with these great sounding pipes, but still gets 60mpg. There are no leaks at all. This is the last year of carburetors. They've always worked well and have never needed anything.It's a pretty bike that gets thumbs up and positive comments on every ride.
