"R" engine All the elements that created the Monster legend are evident at a glance: a powerful "Monster-fly-line", round headlight flanked by the forks, solid and sculptural metal fuel tank, and the authentic "less is more" style concept that gives the perception of being in front of an engine, a chassis, a tank, a saddle; and nothing more. The Designer wanted to communicate the top performance of the Monster 1200 R with a sport, compact and light design to create the image of an individualistic model, almost single-seat. The rider and passenger seats group (still using a single-seat solution) is visually short and narrow delivering an elegant sportiness. The tail and the passenger seat cover show a razor volume characterized by strong and marked surfaces. The side view of the seat is compact, and thin. The rear frame is completely new, with a light structure design. The passenger foot pegs support, are separated and directly fixed to the sub-frame. The high-mounted license-plate holder made in aluminum enhances the view of the huge rear tire 200/55 that, as a result of the rised chassis set-up, is distant from the tail by increasing the feeling of lightness of the rear view. The forged wheels reproduce the same tri-W design as of those of Panigale S / R. Attention for details The new Monster 1200 R visibly communicates sophistication and premiumness. A metal plate with model designation enriches the view of the passenger seat after removing the seat-cover while on the radiator cover in brushed steel is obtained by sandblasting the original «R» graphic. The seat is upholstered with two different materials stitched together with a red stitching bordering the rider's zone. Color range The Monster 1200 R is available in Ducati Red and in the new Thrilling Black, both colour versions are enriched with a sporty longitudinal "R" graphics that marks front mudguard, mini-fairing, tank and passenger seat cover.

This a 2014 Monster 1200s with 5586 miles on it. I have installed Shift Tech shorty carbon slip on exhaust with DB Killer. It also has a Motodynamic led tail light with sequential turn signals, tail tidy kit and small led turn signals in front. The bars, radiator guards, and oil cooler trim have been painted red to accent the tank decals. The wheels have ducati corse rim strips. The stock mirrors have been replaced with CRG Arrow bar end mirrors. I have all stock parts also that will go with the bike. The bike is in mint condition with nothing more than normal wear. The rear tire was replaced with less than 300 miles on it. Please feel free to contact me and I can send more detailed pics.

Moreover, the Monster 1200 S features wheels with three Y-spokes and exclusive "S" graphics as well as a front carbon mudguard. The front headlight with the DRL (Daytime Running Light) system and LED indicators complete the as-standard features. Concept Ducati goes back to the origins of the Monster, with a bike which is new in both shape and substance. When the Ducati designers began work on the new Monster 1200, they took inspiration from those who had laid the foundations of the first project in 1993: the concept of the "sport naked bike". The Monster 1200 is the essence of the Monster in its purest form. Volumes, silhouettes, tank and headlights are all faithful to the lines of the bike born in 1993. Design When the Ducati Design Centre began work on the Monster 1200, it set itself the task of creating a streamlined bike which was compact and with a sporty character, to return to the concept of the "sport naked bike". Great attention was obviously paid to the tank, now more "taut" and modern, the design of which was completely revised while maintaining the overall feel desired by Galluzzi in 1993. To highlight this connection with the past even more so, the fastening hanger in anodised aluminium has made a return.The short tail, compact and with its sharp lines, supported by the steel trellis frame keeps the height-adjustable seat on two positions (795 and 820 mm) and supports the passenger footpeg plates which are now separate from the rider's. This new configuration gives the Monster 1200 a sporty line and at the same time improves the ergonomics. Wheelbase and swingarm have been shortened to obtain compact proportions and significant improvements in terms of handling and riding precision. Testastretta 11° The Monster 1200 engine is the Testastretta 11° DS twin-cylinder, 1198 cm3 with 4 valves per cylinder, liquid cooled.
