This new configuration gives the Monster 1200 a sporty line and at the same time improves the ergonomics. Wheelbase and swingarm have been shortened to obtain compact proportions and significant improvements in terms of handling and riding precision. Testastretta 11° The Monster 1200 engine is the Testastretta 11° DS twin-cylinder, 1198 cm3 with 4 valves per cylinder, liquid cooled. Euro 4 type-approved it is the structural element of the suspension set-up with coupling points for the trellis frame.The 1198 Testastretta 11° DS breathes through the Ride-by-Wire Mikuni throttle body with oval cross-section with a diameter of 56 mm with two spark plugs for each head: the double flame front ensure combustion is completed extremely quickly which, together with the secondary air system optimising operation and reducing cyclical dispersion of the combustion without any impact on pollutant emissions, translates into a more regular distribution providing a more pleasurable and exciting riding sensation. The high-mounted license-plate holder made in aluminum enhances the view of the huge rear tire 200/55 that, as a result of the rised chassis set-up, is distant from the tail by increasing the feeling of lightness of the rear view. This is a Ducati Monster S4RS Tricolore. It is the last and fastest version of the original Monster with the 999S superbike engine, radial Brembo brakes, full Ohlins suspension, and lightweight Marchesini wheels. They were only available in 2008 with 400 being imported to the US and Canada. 275 came to the US and this is #83.This bike is original with the factory optional full Termignoni race system. This includes titanium exhaust, carbon fiber silencers, and race computer. This is good for a 13% power increase (per Ducati) and drops about 20 lbs.There are additional carbon fiber parts including the short tail, heel guards, smoke shield, and clutch cover. I have the stock pieces as wellThe tail light is updated to LED and the turn signal lenses are clear. I also have those stock parts as well.Valve adjustment, timing belt replacement, new battery and new Michelin Pilot 2CTs all within the last 500 miles.
