Desmodue Evoluzione The Monster 1100EVO is powered by the Desmodue Evoluzione engine which is the first two-valve Ducati to hit the 100 hp. Compared with the previous 1100 cc Twin cylinder air-cooled L Desmodromic, this new engine gives an even greater adrenalin rush thanks to the superior power level at high revs while a more linear torque curve ensures a super-smoother power delivery. The 1100 cc Twin Desmodromic has been tuned in order to increase both volumetric and combustion efficiency. The inlet ports and the combustion chamber shape have been redesigned, while the new camshafts have an extreme profile to provide an increased valve lift. The pistons are new too and feature an high compression profile. To ensure high standards of reliability the head cooling system has been revised with improved lubrication to enhance the cooling performance. Vacural® crankcases The two-valve engine on the Monster 1100EVO features a crankcase which significantly reduces overall engine weight. They are produced using the same innovative Vacural® technology that Ducati previously applied only to Supersport models. This method of production relies on vacuum die-casting, which improves the quality of the casting by avoiding porosity, air pockets and oxidation. This enables greater dimensional accuracy and higher ductility for the aluminium alloy. Ducati designers have drawn upon the benefits of this innovative process, redefining the conformation and thickness of the sides on the new crankcase using finite element simulations (FEM) and tests, which resulted in achieving the required reliability standards as well as attaining a weight reduction of the crankcase. Features May Include: Testastretta 11° The Monster 821 is powered by the Testastretta 11° 821 cc engine, with air injection system. A secondary air system similar to the one used on the 1199 Panigale has been introduced in order to optimise operation and reduce combustion cycle variability, without affecting emissions. A controlled flow of clean air is injected into the exhaust pipe, enabling total oxidation of the hot exhaust gases, efficiently cutting hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide levels. Exhaust system The Testastretta 11° 821 engine is combined with a type 2-1-2 exhaust system, which leaves no room for doubt about the performance that the new Monster 821 is capable of unleashing. The engine control unit has a lambda probe for each individual cylinder, guaranteeing delivery of the right amount of fuel, while the stylish vertically stacked cannon silencers are equipped with catalytic converters that ensure compliance with Euro 3 standards. An electronically controlled mid-section adjustment valve optimises exhaust pressure according to engine speed. Unmistakable Fuel Tank The Monster's 17.5 L fuel tank is an integral part of the bike's overall design. The distinctive fuel tank, pure "Monster" in style, completes the Monster's strong, unmistakable silhouette, while its metal structure and sculpted knee panels give the bike a feeling of solidity. Brembo braking system The front brakes of the Monster 821 have high-performance, pump-activated Brembo monobloc M4-32 radial callipers, equipped with high-calibration multiple 9MP ABS as standard. The four-piston front callipers, fitted radially, act on 320 mm discs, while the Brembo two-piston rear calliper is fitted on a 240 mm disc. Suspension The racing inspired chassis geometry is matched with Ø 43 mm fully adjustable upside-down forks, while the rear suspension is entrusted to a Sachs monoshock with adjustable compression and extension, mounted on one side vertically on the cylinder head and, on the other, on a sturdy Ducati double-sided swingarm. All tail light functions are programmable and can be turned off or on. Plastidipped front headlight bezel with matte black. Easily removable by peeling it off. Owned for 5 years and purchased with only 1,300 miles on it. Excellent bike in great condition. Bike also has adjustable ride height. Clean title. Pink in hand.
