For sale is a 1999 Ducati Monster 750 motorcycle. I bought this last year with the hopes of creating a custom one-off Ducati Cafe Racer style bike, but I don't have the time or the space for any projects now. This bike is nice looking, but has the typical Ducati dent in the tank from where the previous owner dropped it at a traffic light. The bike was never in an accident and has a clear title in my name. It starts and runs fine but has been sitting for some time, so it may need a tune up. This bike came before the infamous "Red Key" system was introduced, so it's much less of a hassle to deal with than the newer ones with the troublesome anti-theft systems. Comes with one key that can be easily duplicated if necessary. All of the electrical functions (lights, switches, etc) work perfectly and the battery was replaced last year. The previous owner installed LED turn signals, and they have been professionally wired with proper relays to ensure correct flashing as well as a properly working dash indicator. The front tire is in good shape but the rear will need to be replaced soon. The valve clearances were checked and adjusted before I bought the bike. What you see is what you get with this bike. I don't have any service history, or very much knowledge about it other than I've posted here. With a little minor TLC, this bike is very rideable as-is, or would be a great candidate for a total restoration or custom project. This is my very low mileage 2006 Ducati Monster S2R 800 Dark. I purchased the bike brand new in May '06. The bike is in great shape, never been down and has always been garaged. I just had the bike fully serviced, all fluids changed and timing belts replaced. The bike also has a brand new lithium ion battery. The bike is running like new. It is completely stock and the only thing I added was the Ducati matching windscreen. There are no cosmetic issues other than a couple minor scuffs from the occasional use. At this time, I can't find the spare black key but I have one black key that I normally use as well as the Red key with the code card. I'm pretty sure the extra spare key is around so I will keep searching. If I find the spare key after the auction ends, I will be more than happy to ship it to you. I love this bike but I've just never used it as much as I was hoping and with our first child on the way, it is time for it to be passed onto someone who can take care of it and ride it the way it is supposed to be ridden. I may be partial to this bike but I still think it is one of the best looking bikes on the road, even nicer than the more current Monster models. Note - I may use the bike occasionally this summer so the mileage on the odometer may increase slightly. This bike has been treated with love. I have always used full-synthetic oil. I have the red key and black keys, and the original documentation and manuals. A full list of customizations and add-ons is below. A few things to note are custom-fabricated bracket to hold the aftermarket smoked LED lighting and turn signals. Tail was chopped, plugged and simplified with a smoked/ integrated brake/blinker/license plate LED. Copper accents throughout the bike including triple trees, mirror ends, extended reach foot pegs, levers, and old-school 'Ducati' logo. The ugly side panels that covered wiring below the seat were removed and wiring was relocated under seat and hidden. I added a lower profile Renthal handlebar, matching grips, and bar-end cafe-style mirrors (they can be flipped up if you prefer). I also plugged the original mirror holes. The motor, trans and belt covers have been coated black and I added front and rear axle covers/crash guards and a carbon-fiber seat pillion. Brand new tires (less than 50 miles on them). The 620 Dark Monster gets even better with customization. A responsive and uncluttered fuel injected* 360 lbs. A simple torquey motor without the mess of water cooling hoses or an oil cooler and you never hear about these overheating. I have for sale a 2006 Ducati S2R 800 Dark Motorcycle with about 2100 miles on it. i bought this a few months ago with only 1100 miles on it and have put about 1000 miles in the last several months. I purchased this bike for a winter project to do it up as a cafe racer. However, i am finding that although the bike is fantastic, I am more of an old school triumph guy and going to go back to my triumph. The bike is mechanically sound and has had oil change done earlier this year, as well as brake fluids and adjusted november of last year by Ducati Dealer. The pictures show the bike has about 1700 miles, but it is now about 2100 miles since i have been riding it and might go up a bit more since i am still riding it. The bike has some cosmetic issues that i want to make clear on the listing. It may not show or show clearly on the pictures but i want to point it out to be absolutely clear and for full disclosure. 1 - The wheels have some paint bubbling/flaking. I don't know what caused this becaue i bought the bike like this. I intended to get them powder coated over the winter anyway. I have a quote from the Ducati dealer to do the powder coating for $250. I can provide the quote to buyer if you are local and you can get it done by dealer. For some reason it doesn't show clearly on the pics, but i want to make sure i make it clear that the issue is there. There is nothing wrong with the wheel itself, just this cosmetic issue. I would recommend powder coating when you get new tires so you can mount and balance all at one time. The tires have a lot of life left to it. 2 - The Grey paint on the right side clutch cover has some paint bubbling/flaking. It doesn't show in pics but its there. This is a common problem with Ducati Monsters of this time frame. you can google this subject and you can see lot of people have powder coated the cover. I would suggest getting it powder coated or leave it as is. There is no rust on the cover. This should cost less than the wheels to powder coat. Again, i bought this as a cafe racer project for the winter downtime but just going to stick to my triumph. The Dark Series bikes didn't come with fairings, or cowls or fender eliminator kits.
