You are bidding on a fairly rare 2001' Ducati Monster 900ie in the limited edition "Metallic" finish option.From what I have been able to find out,there were only around 50 of these produced for the US market,and I have never seen another in the flesh.This bike is in excellent overall condition,with only 2,200 miles,and ready to put on many more.Here are the details: I purchased the bike last spring from the original owner who bought it new in California,and then moved to Arizona,where very little miles were put on it.I purchased the bike,and had it shipped to me,and unfortunately,had rotator cuff surgery,and have not put the miles on it that it deserves.I did have the bike serviced,and here is what was done. The timing belts were changed due to the age,not the mileage,and the valves were adjusted.All oils/fluids & filters were changed,as well as the spark plugs.The fuel injectors were synchronized,and the bike starts up & runs great-No issues or excuses.All electronics/bulbs/lights work as they should.After everything was checked out,I obtained a set of Leo Vince Titanium mufflers,and had them installed to give it that true Ducati rumble-What a difference!I have all the original mufflers,and will include them with the winning bid.Tires are in great shape,with no dry rot or cracking. The "metallic" finish on the gas tank is really wild,and changes colors depending on the lighting condition.Has a pearlescent quality to it that really pops in the sunlight.Very cool!I installed a set of matching handlebar grips to accent the finish.Other than that,all body panels/parts are original to the bike,as are the mirrors,fenders,reflectors.No modifications were made to this bike,and it was never ridden hard.I have the original clear California title,as I never got it changed over to a PA title. These are great motors,as they have the 2 valve heads and are oil cooled for simplicity,but also have the 6-speed transmission/dry clutch,and fuel injection.Really the best of all worlds for that time period.Light weight,and handles great,and really is a blast to ride.
