RARE RED DUCATI SPORT CLASSIC. The essential beauty and timeless style of the Ducati GT models of the 1970s now comes to life again with this bike. The Ducati GT 1000 is a bike to be ridden every day, with a balance of two-up comfort and Ducati Desmo Twin performance. As you would expect from a motorcycle inspired by the original icons of Ducati sport motorcycles, every element and component is built with only the highest quality materials and engineered with performance as a priority. Although classically inspired, the GT is a modern Ducati motorcycle, so it must be powerful, handle confidently and be exciting to ride every day. The classic tradition of Italian Grand Touring returns in a successful mix of style and performance. This Ducati is powered by a 992cc, sohc, two-valve-per-cylinder, 90-degree V-twin that’s rich in character and packed with intense torque that can take you by surprise and leave you on the street if you're not prepared. This bike has power in addition to the Sport Classics’ retro styling based on the models from the 60s. The high-quality shocks, inverted fork, and triple Brembo brakes make it a top performing machine. What I love best though are all the head swivels and people going out of their way to give compliments when they see this beautiful bike. I think the GT1000 stands above the rest because of its more upright riding position and cushy stepped seat. It's easier to maneuver and go for long rides without an aching back. On highways, I lower the passenger foot pegs and stretch out along the huge gas tank for a more comfortable ride on the long stretches to get to mountains and winding roads. The bike has been serviced every year by Ducati experts at Battley Cycles in MD. It runs great, and starts up right away even during the colder winter days. I had Battley Cycles add a lead so that the battery can be hooked up to a trickle-charger. I dropped it once at a standstill when I put it in gear and didn't realize the kickstand was down. It damaged the foot brake on the right hand side but that was easily fixed by Battley. Otherwise, no damage. The paint is in perfect condition and the red with chrome retro styling just makes the bike look awesome. It has all original parts. It should need zero investment towards maintenance for years to come, except for standard check ups. The bike has 5,200.00 miles on it. I'm a 5'5" female, 130lbs, and although everyone told me this was too much bike for someone my size, it could not have been more perfect. It has the Ducati engine purr that is second to none, great handling and styling, and power. Truly an exceptional machine.
