2015 Suzuki V-Strom 650 ABS Adventure, 2015 Suzuki V-Strom 650 ABS Adventure In 2002, Suzuki introduced the V-Strom 1000 in a new motorcycle category, the Sport Enduro Tourer. Its running performance and packaging earned worldwide acclaim. In 2003, Suzuki released the V-Strom 650 targeting a wider range of users. This versatile model covers not only daily use such as commuting, but also weekend touring as well. With the addition of an ABS-equipped model in 2006, the V-Strom 650 has always been the best-selling model in its class. To further improve its running performance and riding comfort, Suzuki decided to develop a new model. For 2015, The V-Strom 650 ABS Adventure is another choice in adventure touring. It has striking accessories that include sleek aluminum side cases large enough to fit a full-coverage helmet, a rugged accessory engine bar and an adjustable windscreen. It also has the same improved performance as the original V-Strom 650 ABS. Its 645cc V-Twin engine has improved low-to-mid rpm performance, matched by enhanced fuel economy and environmental performance. Features May Include Antilock Brake System (ABS)* unit features a lightweight, compact design. The ABS monitors wheel speed, and matches stopping power to available traction. 645cc V-Twin engine features broad torque delivery, signature V-Twin power pulses and sporty quick-revving high rpm range power surges for full-range riding enjoyment. An efficient engine design delivers high mileage and class-leading riding range. A high-speed 32-bit ECU controls Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) system, contributing to enhanced low-to-mid rpm range torque, a linear throttle response and lower emissions. Twin iridium spark plugs for each cylinder for better spark strength and combustion efficiency contributing to increased power, a more linear throttle response, easier engine start-up and a more stable idle. A radiator with a more compact core, flanked by wind-directing plates shaped with holes* for enhancing cooling efficiency, directing engine heat to flow out to the side air outlets and away from the rider s legs. (*Patented.) The 6-speed transmission is tailored for active sporty rides with tighter 1st through 5th gear ratios, while keeping highway cruises comfortable with a tall top gear. Lightweight and rigid twin-spar aluminum-alloy frame and swingarm contribute to smooth handling performance and excellent stability at high-speeds. Front dual 310mm-disc brakes and rear 260mm-disc brakes deliver smooth, controllable stopping power. 2015 Suzuki DR-Z400SM, 2015 Suzuki DR-Z400SM The Suzuki DR-Z400SM is a street legal bike for serious dirt bike enthusiasts on pavement. It's not uncommon to take the SuperMoto down a twisty forest trail as well as a tight canyon corners. Its 398cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine provides strong low-rpm torque and crisp throttle response for any of these occasions. The key difference from the DR-Z400SM and the DR-Z400S is the inverted forks. Inverted front forks contribute to less unsprung weight and improved overall handling. The SuperMoto also comes with a wider rims and stickier tires than the 400S. Features May Include Suzuki's Supermotard model based on DR-Z400S - combines Supermotard style and features in a narrow, lightweight street-legal package. Automatic decompression system for quick/easy engine starts. Compact 4-valve cylinder head with 36mm intake valves, 29mm exhaust valves, narrow 28-degree included valve angle and shim-under-bucket valve adjustment system. Electric start with lightweight starter motor and a compact 6.5 amp maintenance-free battery. Forged aluminum piston is 10 percent lighter than a cast piston and receives additional oil-cooling to the piston crown through a crankcase oil jet. Lightweight 398cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled, dry-sump engine produces strong, tractable low-rpm power. SCEM-plated cylinder (nickel-silicon-phosphorous) is lighter and more durable than an iron liner with excellent heat transfer properties. Smooth throttle response with a Mikuni BSR36 CV-type carburetor fed by 6-liter airbox. The left side cover has quick-release fasteners for easy access to the air filter. Thermostatically controlled cooling fan mounted to the left radiator helps maintain consistent operating temperature in traffic. Additional weight savings with magnesium valve cover, clutch cover, and magneto cover. Compact 5-speed transmission utilizes a cable-operated clutch with separate outer cover for simplified clutch maintenance. A fully adjustable rear shock absorber with high/low speed compression damping adjuster and aluminum swingarm for precise rear wheel control. A bolt-on aluminum subframe helps reduce weight and simplify maintenance. RK Excel aluminum rims and radial tires: 120/70-R17 front, 140/70- R17 rear. Chrome-moly steel frame tuned for Supermoto style riding is torsionally strong with minimal weight. The backbone tube, front down tube, and steering head gussets form the dry-sump engine oil tank.
