Ok, this was found and dragged out of a barn by my good friend Jeff in 2012 and a complete restoration was just finished on it. It was parked in the barn many years ago by the previous owner. It's a 1972 Ed Roth Body 3 wheel trike. The restoration included a complete rewire and nut and bolt rebuild of the VW motor which was done by Frenchy of FrenchysRides.com. Trust me, this trike sounds just as amazing as it looks!! Frenchy himself is an icon when it comes to VeeDubs. Not to mention the icon himself Big Daddy Ed Roth. Now some of you younger guys don't even know the name Ed Roth, but I'm sure you've heard the name Rat Fink. Ed Roth was the creator / inventor of that famous Rat amongst many other Hot Rods that became Hot Wheels and Model cars. Such as the Beatnik Bandit, Mysterion, The Outlaw and Orbitron to name a few. As a matter of fact, Cody Roth just stopped by the shop and took the trike for a spin. The trike has a 1600cc VW motor that is FRESH, meaning literally 20 miles on total rebuild. The complete body was stripped and painted Shovel Head Red, which is a beautiful red metalflake paint to keep that vintage 70's old school look. The paint was made from a company called SEM. The complete underside of the body was treated to a full rock protection coating ( black ), which is to keep the body from cracking or paint chipping due to rocks hitting the underside from being driven. You can catch a couple short test ride videos on You Tube if you do a search for ( Big Daddy Ed Roth trike ) on YouTube. This is NOT something that you will find all over!! These are quite rare nowadays!! You're not going to see one on every corner like a Harley or Corvette. It also has a very unique look coming down the street. If you don't like attention, then this is NOT your ride!! It has classic fat Cragar Mags and Mickey Thompson Tires. 4-speed standard shift with foot clutch, and reverse on the left side. It has old school vintage hot rod looks with some modern conveniences. I think Ed would be quite proud!! It put a big smile on Cody's face while he was riding it. For sale is a well-maintained 2002 Vulcan Nomad 1500 Fi...one that has show circuit pedigree and is NOW a 1600! Low mileage at 12,5XX. Not only did Kawasaki North America commission the custom paint and install the chrome pieces, they also had Dave Rollins at Thunder Mfg in Phoenix install their 95ci (1600cc) big bore kit along with custom cams, a power commander computer, a custom K&N air filter and a 2-1 high-flow exhaust. This bike dynos at 95hp/95lb/ft at the rear wheel! This BIG BORE KIT is a several thousand dollar procedure ($3K+) if you were to take a Vulcan Nomad to Thunder Mfg and have this done on your own (parts and labor, new cams, port and polish heads, etc.). The bike is now a 1600cc/95ci. Additionally, Kawasaki also installed a Vulcan Meanstreak front end for increased braking power (dual discs!), better handling shocks, etc. Bike also comes with aftermarket windshield, Mustang solo seat, Kawasaki hard bag liners, rear passenger floorboards, etc. Bike needs nothing! It has great tires. Rear shocks are BRAND NEW lowering shocks by Progressive. Wife is 5'5" and rode the bike with ease. Every light on the bike has been upgraded to bright LEDs, to include the headlight, mini tombstone-style taillight, etc. All upgrades done correctly (solder, shrinktube, turn signals flash at proper rate, etc.)Must have motorcycle endorsement and proof of insurance to test ride. Not in any hurry to sell. Clean title and ready to ride. Selling since family is growing. Price is firm in light of the thousands of upgrades on this bike. Be unique...own a custom bike that is comfortable, VERY powerful AND dead reliable!Will have full service (oil change, etc.) and detail before sale. The bad: there are a few mostly unnoticeable paint chips (not dents) and small scuffs on the bike. These are from when Kawasaki NA shipped the bike to and from shows.
