Once purchased form the police department it was brought directly to BMW Montreal for a complete tear down and inspection. Items replaced with new:-front ABS master cylinder-front ball joint-Front spring strut-fuel pump -spark plugs Other items were replaced with like-new condition units from other donor 1200RT-P's:-front and rear tires-front and rear brake discs-front and rear brake pads-fork head-panniers-exhaust-crash bars-front wheel-battery-flasher unitsBMW also did a full service of allFluids and checked the entire motorcycle over which led to all the listed items being replaced. The total bill was over 3500$. Records at BMW also show that this motorcycle had a complete transmission rebuild 10km prior, on behalf of the police department, which totaled more than 2000$.It then passed a mechanical inspected for the SAAQ on the 29th April 2016.Description:2006 model, 54,000KMThis motorcycle's body and paint was a 6/10 as it came from the police after all the stickers and marking were removed. The police also required some holes to be drilled in the fairings for lights. I have taken all fairings off and covered the holes temporarily with metalized tape, then carefully painted the entire motorcycle in Matt gunmetal Plasti-Dip. This coating is long lasting but completely reversible and was an inexpensive way to repaint the motorcycle while protecting and insulating the holes in the fairings.This paint and body work is not permanent but is very nice in the interim. It will last for years until proper body work and paint is accomplished by the owner. The finish is currently a 9/10.This is a single seat motorcycle. The rear box which used to house a radio now serves as a small locking top box and cafe-style fairing. The motorcycle can be outfitted with a passenger seat but needs a rear seat mount and rear seat to be purchased.The rear cases are police issue and not removable without tools and do not offer as much storage as the actual BMW travel pannier's. They are however lockable with the ignition key.This is a very straight, very well cared for, no expenses spared motorcycle that is ready for many years of trouble and maintenance-free riding. It has good on board storage, amazing handling and power, heated handlebars, electrically adjustable windscreen, large glove box, great wind and elements protection from fairings, and an absolute pleasure to ride.
