For your consideration is this 1968 R60US BMW motorcycle. There were about 1,879 US forked R60's built between 1967-1969. While these machine don't necessarily have the charm of the Earles forked bikes almost everyone who's ridden both will agree that these telescopic forked bikes ride and handle much better. With the limited number of these built in the 3 years of production along side the Earles bikes , it makes them somewhat rare today. This example has very straight front and rear fenders and a decent gas tank. The rings were stuck in the bores when purchased but freed up when the cylinders were pulled off. The headlite shell will need replaced as it's toast as it the alloy handlebar risers and fork caps. The speedo reads 23,000 smiles and when restored (or just rebuilt) it'll be ready for many more. This machine came with steel chrome wheels that will need replaced or blasted and painted. Also something unusual for this bike is it has sidecar lugs welded on it whereas most (all?) other US bikes did NOT. This is a complete bike that needs restored by a loving owner. I would like nothing else than to keep this machine and return it to it's former glory but it's down the list a ways of my projects and finances unless i win the lottery before the auction ends...lol The cylinders, heads , carbs etc... that were on this machine will go with the new owner. The non-stock seat will sell with it also unless the buyer would rather have an original narrow or wide dual seat instead. It will be titled in my name with a current Ohio title when sold. Restoring these old bikes is easier now than it was 25-30 years ago thanks to BMW Mobile Traditions reproducing most of whats needed and Vech (and co.) at Bench Mark Works will be happy to answer any and all questions and sell you whats needed to put this desired antique back on the road reliably. I've been riding these classics since 1979 and still have that very bike i bought back then and it's never let me down. How many british bike owners can say the same??? ( i love brit bikes and currently have a 1958 Norton 19S but really .....) Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer but i can put you in touch with a very reliable , covered , affordable , insured ( a cool million $$) shipper to help you ,,,,, hey Bernie! International sales are possible but please contact me before. Review my feedback and buy with confidence but please understand this is a nearly 50 year old machine that needs restore or rebuilt at the very least. If you have to ask your Mother....... ; { THANK YOU

Here is your chance to buy an very nice, original, low mile machine. I bought this bike the summer of 2013. AT that time it needed a new muffler and tires and tubes. Since I had the wheels off I removed the bearings and glass beaded the hubs, then gave them a good stainless steel wire brushing to bring them back to their original factory appearance. Then the bearing assemblies were carefully re-shimmed to factory specs. New heidenau tires and new tubes were then put on the freshly polished original aluminum weimann rims. This bike has the original dual seat. The striping has been waxed to the point of some of it disappearing due to the abrasives in the wax. The paint does have the patina of a nearly 50 year old rider. In the time I've owned this bike it's put about 500 smiles on me. It has never let me down and always behaved as a BMW should. This bike will cruise at 55 mph or more but at 250cc it's happier at 34-45 mph. The tire pump is standard on the bike but the tool kit is not present unfortunately. This machine is being offered only because I liked it so much I'm restoring 2 others and have found a newer, lower mileage example and don't need 4 ( or do I ?)lol. ALL the pictures were taken today , September 7th, 2015 after a quick bath, and show the bike as it currently is. Battery was new in 2013 and at that time I replaced the standard U.S. bars with low, sidecar handlebars as I prefer them. Overseas sales are welcome but any and all shipping arrangements are your responsibility no matter who purchases this bike. thanks for looking and check out our other interesting bikes.
