1977 BMW R100RS, R100RS 1977 --, Own one of the first of the factory faired superbikes. Up for sale is a good example of a 1977 BMW R100RS. Im the third owner and purchased the bike in March 2002. The odometer stopped working shortly after at 76920. Ive put maybe another 5K miles on it since and estimate the mileage at 82K. The bike was painted rattle-can white when I bought it and has been repainted with PPG two-part urethane over PPG DP epoxy primer. I chose white since I wasnt able to find the color code at the time and the German racing color is white. All the white bits were taken down to bare glass and wet sanded to 400 grit before priming and painting.
