1980 BMW R100T, 44,161 miles, (subject to change). I bought this bike 8 years ago. This is the more rare R100T model. Same engine as the R100RS, R100S, & R100RT BMW's of that same year. Machine starts and runs really well as it has dual plug ignition. Because of this it can run on regular fuel.. Transmission shifts very smoothly, these machines have the cushioned drive shaft which really helps in that regard. Bike is painted BMW Henna Red. You will find some flaws in it but overall is shows quite nicely. Tank is nice with no dents and inside is good. You can view the bike in person if you wish, please call me directly 609-267-6589. It is much easier to answer questions over the phone than email. I have the clear NJ Title in my name. Shipping arrangements/payment are all up to buyer, my zip is 08022, I can assist in loading the motorcycle from my location. Will not release the vehicle until certified funds clear my bank. If picking up in person cash would be preferred. WORK RECENTLY DONE, (over the past 2 years and about 500-700 miles). *New Steering Head Bearings. *Fork seals replaced. * Fork internals cleaned out and seals replaced. *Clutch/Input Shaft Splines Lubed *Clutch pack inspected and found to be in excellent condition with a lot of miles of service life left in it. *Partial Carb Rebuild, (o- rings, cleaning, etc.). *Rear Drive Splines Lubed Bike starts, runs, rides and handles very nicely. Has a really solid feel to it VARIOUS FEATURES * Original BMW bodywork, including the "S" rear seat cowl, painted BMW Henna Red. This is the same color that some of the R65LS's had. Tank is the later type that fits on the 1985 on monoshock bikes too. *Has an original, factory BMW set of R100S handlebars on it. *Dual spark plug ignition system. Retains the original points distributor can with an Accell ignition amplifier. This offers a very dependable and easily worked on design. Points last a very long time because of the amplifier. Along with better general running, dual plug system allows the use of some of that really poor quality lower octane fuel that you run into out on a long distance ride. * Has the cushioned drive shaft with makes the bike shift very smoothly. I find these are just as nice as the 1981 on type BMW's. *The tool box and tool kit shown are the ones that come with the bike. *Orig. air pump, shown in its holder, still works really well. * Shocks have good damping and do not leak. *Brakes are all working properly. *Has original set of quiet BMW Zeuna 38mm Mufflers in very good to excellent condition COSMETIC AND MECHANICAL ISSUES *Paint has some minor flaws. There are a few scratches/paint chip losses on tank. ( Look closely at the large pictures of that). *Seat has some tiny pinholes in rear pad section, (look closely at the picture of it). * Has the usual cosmetics you would expect to find on a machine of this age that has been well cared for over the years. *Rear main seal does not leak, the shelf under flywheel always stays dry. * There is some minor oil weeping out of the push rod seals over time, as is typical of these machines. It is not a big problem.
