Hi, I'm an **** prototype machinist and this is my 1999 BMW K1200lt. In the last two years this bike has had the clutch friction and pressure plate, engine main seal, all transmission seals, rear brake line, camshaft cover gaskets, crankshaft cover gaskets, transmission and final drive fluids, timing chain guides, head coolant temp sensor, fork seals, throttle cables, and many other parts along the way replaced. $3500+ invested in serious maintenance. Basically, this bike doesn't leak a drop, and is ready for another 80k miles. I have removed (but still have for the buyer if he wants them) the six disc cd changer, cassette deck, stereo control computer, and the radio antenna. The result was a significant reduction in weight, more storage capacity (in the glove box - it'll hold a full size .45! - and right side pannier), and better handling. Really, if you want music, bluetooth music in the helmet is much better. So it is 17 years old, and has nicks and scars to prove it, the driver's seat vinyl is cracked, but the underlying foam is fine. Bottom line, this is a well loved bike with serious touring capability ; features include, electrically adjustable windshield, cruise control, folding highway pegs, adjustable wind deflectors, two position trunk (currently in the rear position), spacious passenger accommodations, preload adjustable rear shock, telelever front suspension, paralever rear suspension, shaft drive, 5 speeds, 47 mpg (at 5200 ft altitude), tip over protection, and adjustable headlight. I've crossed America twice from north to south, and this is a serious tourer. Back tire has about 1500 miles remaining, front tire is good. Send me some money, and I'll have a new tire on it for you if you want to fly and ride. My motorcycling days are done, I've done it all now. Make this your entry into big touring with the peace of mind that this bike is ready to go. Serious inquiries only please. This is a big fast through the corners bike and handles very nicely, with good low speed manners. Buyer will receive these extras, Clymer maintenance manual, Bestem brand bags to fit the side and top cases (really essential), and receipts for items/parts purchased, and a Beadrider seat cover - not shown. The beadrider seat covers are really fantastic, much better than a custom seat in my opinion, and I've had several. They are cooler, and you'll never get monkey butt. Fly and ride is fine with me.
