Spring has sprung, almost. So....LET"S RIDE!!I looked for this specific model BMW for more than a year and a half when I bought this one. I had looked at more than a dozen K1200'S in that period. I was extraordinairly picky. Some too dinged up. Some too many miles. Some were ikky colors. Some appeared ok but had unknown histories. This was the 6th BMW Motorcycle I had purchased since my first one in 1981. I knew my paramaters. Then I spotted this one in the BMW Owners News Marketplace Classifieds. It was listed by a private seller, the second owner, and was in Portland, Maine. I haggled a deal over the phone, flew out there, paid the man, and rode it home. That was early spring 2013. Had 15,900 miles on it then.For a 2007 model I consider the current odometer of 22,037 low mileage. Front tire is at approximately 50%, rear approximately 80% tread remaining. Unless you are a mileage monkey, you won't need tires in the first season. Because dealer documentation is largely digital anymore, there is not a ton of paperwork in the file like the older models. Key the VIN into any BMW dealer's system and you'll be able to view most of this bikes maintaince history, revealing the maintaince is current and all the factory campaigns have been performed including new rear wheel hub, fuel gauge sensor, and timing chain tensioner. Battery is approximately 1 year old and is on BMW Battery Tender through the winter. This bike starts, stops, accelerates, slows, goes, sounds, feels and rides and corners exacly as designers and engineers intended. Aside from some very minor signs of wear on the heated Corbin seat, and a couple of minor dings on the bags, it is in otherwise excellent condition.Factory equipment that just makes life fun include heated grips, heated seats, front and rear, (which easily adds another month onto each end of the riding season)Add-on's include carbon fiber plate in crotch area, Cee Bailey tall windshield, Cee Bailey headlamp protector, a very comfortable passenger backrest that is easily removeable. I guess I would reluctantly throw in my beloved Qxford Sport tank bag (not pictured).
