The K1200LT is the world's finest touring machine to begin with. Mine is a low mileage (8600 miles, just broken in!) 2005 unit that is like new (read excellent condition, no defects, none, stored in my airplane hangar). I like my toys and I'm a pay and play guy. I put over $8000 worth of upgrades on this machine and it is amazing. I also am a fanatic about maintenance and this BIKE is no exception. . .the really pricey 6000 mile service was done in Denver (a dry climate!) where the bike was stored for the last few years (moved to Daytona this year). The 2005 1200LT is one of the last of the powered center stand. . .. It is a real joy and these bikes are highly desirable as a result. Its got tons of power for two up riding, even in the mountains out West (I have a home in Colorado). The tires are excellent, and the bike needs nothing and is a turnkey deal. You just need to ride and enjoy the best that BMW has to offer. My wife and I ride this thing for 4-5 hours at a stretch. We took a look at the new 1600 BMW and found some deficiencies: for example, the new 'flagship' beemer has no power center stand, and NO REVERSE! If you point an 850+ pound bike down into a parking space, its impossible to get back out without a reverse gear (my 1200LT reverse works perfectly). Also, plan on spending $31K for a new 1600 Exclusive lacking these features. Here are the upgrades (and some key features of the 1200LT) 1.Passenger comfort: FLOOR BOARDS that are adjustable (see pictures). You wont see these on a flagship BMW 1600 Exclusive! 2.Passenger comfort: Arm rests (nicer than the 1600 by the way!). 3.Passenger comfort: Remote for radio/sound system on right side 4.Passenger/rider comfort: After market larger Windscreen, reduces buffeting to passenger, offer greater comfort and protection to both rider and passenger. 5.Safety: Flashers and turn signals integrated into side mirrors. Big safety feature! 6.Safety: Front fork fixed LED running lights. Can be activated on right handle bar. 7.Safety: ABS and luggage rack stop/running light (up high so very visible). 8.After market highway pegs (BMW Badged, OEM). Fold and stow nicely. . .. Easy to deploy and great driver comfort, less fatigue. Very comfortable and fits all primates! 9.Integrated leather luggage for all cases. Makes it easy to overnight! Pull and go to your room. 10.Heated vests. Plug into the bike. This along with heated grips, heated seats, makes this a cold weather bike (I have driven it in 25 deg weather as long as its dry). I know, not a big deal in FL but hey this bike goes places and you might just wind up in a cold place. 11.Trickle charger pigtail along with charger (its included). You DO NOT want a dead battery on these bikes! 12.BMW tank bag: clear on top. Great place to put our E-pass or maps/sunglasses, spare change, gloves. 13.New tires, brakes/ABS gone through as part of 6K service 14.Original owner's manual in leather case. 15.Reverse and power center stand: I love pulling up and having the bike 'levitate' up on the center stand. You can't get this on the new Flagship touring bikes... highly desirable! 16.On board intercom (aftermarket since the BMW unit was total crap). 17.Shuberth helmets that plug and play through the intercom are available (XL and XXL size). 18.BMW integral GPS unit. Works great with all instructions and paperwork (original box). This unit locks and cannot be stolen unless someone takes a hammer and crowbar to the bike! 19.Helmet locks (down low on the rear plate, see pictures). We don't use these since two full face helmets will go in the top case. 20.AM-FM player, integrated with intercom but loud enough to use without the intercom. 21.2 CD Units: one holds 6 CDs (in side bag) and another (glove box) takes a single CD). 22.BMW Folding Cupholder: $150! But you have to have it for morning coffee! Its really a nice add on. 23.Power locks, ignition protection system (two remotes). Ignition interlock on remote (bike cannot be started unless you hit the 'unlock' button first). 24.Of course there are plenty of comfort features such as cruise control, top box glove compartment to hold registration, owner's manual. The top case has an integrated mirror with light so you can fix your hair when the helmet comes off! 25.Original BMW tool kit in the right saddle bag. 26. Headlight cover protection (if a rock hits this light, its an expensive repair). This protects the light. This bike has never been dropped and is in 'as new' condition. There is no damage and its very well maintained. Why am I selling? I am moving from Florida and I have 4 Bikes. . . I can't move them all! The bike is close to NADA price point and is fairly priced. You really need to see this thing. Why spend $25-35K for new when you get everything for less than $11K? I don't have to sell it (my wife LOVES the bike) but shoot me an offer and I'll consider it. I'm not desperate here so no low ballers please. If you want the ultimate touring bike and make your passenger really happy, consider this bike. It is way better than anything new that BMW has to offer AND it is perfect with very low miles. Buy it, ride it, enjoy it. The Bike is available for local pick up; however, at buyer's expense it can be shipped (buyer should make all arrangements). Title is free and clear.
