It loves dirt roads. It loves stretches of asphalt. Schizophrenic? Nah, just extremely versatile. And pretty **** tough. (Hey, it’s the bike that won the 6,000-mile 18-day Paris-Dakar Rally). From its DOHC, four-valve engine with electronic engine management system to its newly positioned fuel tank beneath the seat to the first optional antilock brakes ever offered on a single, there’s no better way to get in touch with your adventurous side. Or your mellow side. Either way, a ride on the F 650 GS will be highly therapeutic.

Why not? That's the motto of the G 650 GS. Whether in town or on the gravel track: with this machine you have every terrain under control, and you get more than your money's worth when it comes to riding fun, too. The G 650 GS continues the success story of BMW Motorrad's single cylinder engines in impressive fashion - with a solid output of 50 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 44 foot pounds at 5,000 rpm. The bike offers absolutely sensational fuel consumption levels - 74 miles per gallon using regular fuel. The ride feel on the G 650 GS is thrilling, too - wherever you're going. Whether on the road or over rough terrain - the reliable, tried-and-tested chassis with central spring strut on the swinging fork ensures crisp handling. Membership of the adventure family is highlighted in this machine with the upright seating position and an impressive 6.7 inches (170 mm) of spring travel at the front with 6.5 inches (165 mm) at the rear. The moderate standard seat height of 31.5 inches (800 mm) and the lowered suspension option make this experience accessible to virtually anyone. The G 650 GS is robust, powerful and yet still extremely light, weighing just 430 pounds (195 kg) with a full tank. With its low fuel consumption and simple handling, it is not just ideal for beginning motorcyclists. Its slim, athletic stature in a youthful and typically adventure-style design stands for uncomplicated riding pleasure and pure fun. Accessories for the BMW adventure bike include comfortable hand protectors, aluminum sump guard, a high windshield and practical Vario cases. The options make the machine a touch safer still: a center stand makes for improved stability, the heated grips provide a more solid grasp and ABS prevents the wheels from locking. With the G 650 GS you will simply have fun. So just get on and off you go: why not?

Power, robustness and agility combined with maximum control. This is what the G 650 GS Sertão stands for - a machine designed to master even the most adventurous forays into off-road terrain. Naturally its outstanding ride characteristics not only make it excel here but also in everyday riding on country roads or in city traffic. No wonder - with these technical features: The engine generates 48 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 44 foot pounds at 5,000 rpm. Fuel consumption is sensationally low at 74 mpg at a constant 55 mph and thanks to its extremely low weight of 390 pounds with full tank the bike handles easily in every situation. The G 650 GS Sertão is a thrilling bike to look at, too. The exclusive color design is classic in Aura White / Arroy Blue while remaining modern at the same time. The luggage carrier is in Black and the seat in Black / Grey. Enduro fans will also enjoy the wide range of equipment. Thanks to state-of-the-art ABS the braking performance of the G 650 GS Sertão reaches a new level on wet asphalt. Apart from riding safety, a high level of comfort is ensured by the heated grips and the socket which ensures untroubled travel feeling on long distance rides. The equipment features are rounded off by the original BMW Motorrad alarm system. All this makes the G 650 GS Sertão a versatile Funduro which calls out for adventure, like the exciting desert of Brasil after which it was named. Let yourself in for adventure!

When I found this motorcycle online the original owner had it on display in his wife’s art gallery in Fayetteville, Arkansas where it sat for much of its early life. It has not been ridden off-road or in rain. I purchased the motorcycle in February of 2012 with 3800 miles on the odometer and it currently has 7064 clean miles. Front end upgrade and other details: 48mm USD forks, Gary Emig Racing custom triple clamps, Gary Emig Racing custom adjustable steering damper, *Accelerator module, Easton EXP Tapered Bar, Aftermarket mirrors, Braided front brake line, Galfer Pads, Super Motard front fender. The OEM battery has been replaced and relocated under the seat with a light weight lithium ion battery - no cross braces were cut. All original parts are included + oil filters. *The Accelerator module fixed the low to mid throttle response which is now seamless. The lean conditions are completely gone and the motorcycle is now a pleasure to ride in open loop. Another benefit of the module is increased mpg. The lean mapping was my first complaint on my first ride so I purchased a fuel nanny which just moved the problem around but never fixed the issue and it has since been removed. Detailed pictures of any part(s) are available upon request. 6k / would consider an interesting trade
