2008 model One Owner Aprilia SXV 550 Frame Number 000005. Awesome bike in great clean condition. I have owned this bike since day one and rode it locally on the great twisty roads we have here in Tennessee and western North Carolina. I'm in my mid 50's and have severe arthritis which is forcing me to sell this bike. It has only been out a few times in the last couple of years. This bike has been my hobby and I have taken excellent care of it. It now has a fresh engine and transmission oil change and is ready to go. The 2008 is the first year that was fully 50 state legal. It also had some suspension updates on the rear and the Orange case sealant problem was fixed. They also revised the cold start knob so it starts easier. It is basically stock but I have addressed all the typical issues these bikes have. Following are some things I have done to it.- Complete wiring harness was re-routed as needed and extra ties added before the bike was ridden. - Installed a master link in the chain for ease of chain removal and cleaning- Installed the Aprilia foam air filter and opened up the air box lid for better breathing.- Tuned up by Allen Noland of Transworld Cycles. Original derestriction was done properly by the selling dealer before I test rode it.- Installed a 40 tooth rear sprocket which gives a full gear more in speed than the 46 tooth. I did this for comfortable fast running on the highways as I generally rode to the local mountain roads. The 46 tooth sprocket is included - Retained the stock LED tail light but shortened up the license plate bracket.- Added Black number plate side panels. The stock Orange panels are included.- Safety wired a few items that are known to come loose such as the exhaust manifold bolts.- Changed the front headlight number plate decal from Orange to White.- Modified the breather system so that it bypasses the air box and does not put oil in the airbox- Custom seat made by Sports Drive. Huge improvement over stock in comfort and performance.- Wired with a battery tender connection located near the fast start knob.- I set the oil change clock for 20 hours and change the oils on schedule Included in the sale are the spare parts shown on the cardboard including some oil filters, original owners manual and tools that came with it, A full factory shop manual, and some warning decals that were never put on the bike. This bike has been one of my most favorite bikes I have ever owned and I have been riding for 46 years on all sorts of bikes, I have done all of my own work on this SXV including setting the valves and doing several full frame teardowns for inspecting and cleaning. The bike has only been street driven and has never been to a track or off road. The front tire is original and the rear has been replaced with the original spec matching 180 Dunlop RR. Plenty of tread remaining on both. Chain and sprockets still good. Original brake pads still okay but the front might be around 50%. All original grips, levers, mirrors, dash. The only thing I can think of is that it still has the original battery which was replaced by the dealer when I picked it up for the first time in '08. It still seems okay and has not let me down ever, but I keep thinking it will need replaced due to age. I managed to get on it and I went for a short ride today just to make sure everything was okay and it is. sure is a fun bike to ride! Local pickup preferred. Shipping, if needed, is Buyer's responsibility and Buyer's cost. Buyer must use a dedicated motorcycle shipper that will come to my address and load the bike and secure it in an enclosed trailer. This is far better than crating and using a common carrier. I will be glad to hold the bike for up to 60 days once full payment is made. I can keep it stored under cover inside by air conditioned house on the battery tender. This bike is a great find for someone wanting one that is mostly stock ready to ride and well taken care of. Always stored inside. Look at the engine side covers, not even the typical boot marks from aggressive riding! The whole bike presents very well. I'm going to miss it for sure.
