The frame is the direct descendant of a dynasty which has won 18 titles and 143 grand prix in the 250 GP class and the bike has then been further enhanced by highly developed electronic management systems to improve both engine performance and handling. This is a true vocation of Aprilia, which was the first manufacturer to adopt the Ride By Wire system as standard. The electronic throttle allows the power of the engine to be used to the maximum while reducing fuel consumption and eliminating the classic problems associated with a normal twist grip such as lack of smoothness when opening/closing the throttle. The RbW system also allows different power delivery settings to be selected through its multi-map technology. Aprilia is the first motorcycle manufacturer to have patented its highly developed aPRC dynamic control system which still today is the only one with the exclusive self-calibration and wheelie control features.

2001 Aprilia RSV Mille R 1000 Up for sale is Aprilia's 2001 flagship sport bike, the RSV Mille R 1000cc. The RSV Mille R is a lighter, higher performance version of the standard Millie. This 2001 Mille R came from the factory with Ohlin suspension, Ohlins steering dampener, lightweight forged aluminum wheels, carbon fiber body parts, and shorter lighter subframe without passenger option. The bike has almost 14,000 miles which is barely anything for the Rotax motor which is known to last 100k miles. The body is in average condition with carbon fiber panels having faded in the sun. We're selling the bike at our trade-in cost. We purchased this bike as a trade-in for $3000 and we're selling for $3000. Buyer is responsible for shipping but we can make recommendations. When you sit on the Aprilia RSV1000 Mille the plush Ohlins suspension barely compresses and you realize it’s 100% sports motorcycle. It’s a delight on fast, smooth roads, tipping easily into corners and firing out with a pleasant balance of stability and maneuverability. Capable in town, with generous steering lock for parking lot maneuverability and surprisingly comfortable stock seat; the Aprilia RSV 1000 Millie R is easy to live with and comfortable to ride. The Aprilia RSV1000 Mille is powered by the legendary Rotax 60 degree V-twin with a high performance dry sump oil system which is usually reserved for race bikes. At low revs the V-Twin motor pulls with torquey authority which quickly builds into a muscular midrange in any gear. Top end power is smooth and immense but not insane like modern Japanese inline fours. The Aprilia RSV is known to be much more reliable compared to Ducatis of the same age. The Rotax V-Twin engine is known to be extremely reliable with high mileage not being an issue. This is one of the most durable and reliable Italian sport bikes ever made and would make an excellent track bike or comfortable street bike.
