2008 Honda CRF230L Dual Sport, Ready for Adventures! In the era of BIG adventure bikes and over-sized dual-sports, this one’s refreshing! The only reason I’m selling this one is that I have three….guess you could say I’m a believer as they’re light, fast enough, get Hi MPG (+70) and they don’t break. If you break it out on the trail, it can likely be fixed mostly then and there. These also enjoy a seat height of ~ 31.0” rather than most that require a stepladder to mount. Low maintenance and unintimidating and although tough enough for the rough stuff, this is not a motocross bike that will travel through the air with the greatest of ease. You’ll enjoy the environment consistent with the more leisurely pace of your adventure. This is the Honda factory street-legal version of the popular motocrosser, CRF230F. This L model, though friendly, still produces some brawn when needed. The double valve, 223cc air-cooled engine, essentially bulletproof, makes favorable power for the target audience of lower-key Adventure riders. A wide ratio six-speed gearbox allows for some extra thump through the trails, and smooth acceleration on the highway. Thanks to the larger 30mm CV carburetor, the power band is wider than its 26mm piston valve-equipped 230F cousin, though overall power is far from the kind that gets away from you. At 267 #s wet, it’s nimble and enjoyable with a tight turning radius also well suited to technical single track. This one has; new Hidenau Scout 60s front & rear, Precision rear rack, ROTOPAX adapter, 1US Gal ROTOPAX fuel cell, Flatland Skid plate, Barkbuster Al frame Storm hand guards, Wolfman Enduro 12 Saddle Bags, Seat Concept Gripper Comfort Seat. For comparison, the newer Honda CRF250L is also a wonderful bike. It’s water- cooled, EFI (non-carbureted) weighs 60 more pounds and has a seat height of 34.7 inches. New, it’s also $5,500 + dealer prep & fees and sales tax. Comparably equipped, it’ll cost ~ $6950 OTD and more to insure....oh, and don't forget those accessories for ~$750. The choice seems obvious….
