2002 Kawasaki KLR650

Description

This 2002 KLR650 is very well maintained, has no mechanical issues and is well traveled at 84,500 miles. It has been driven to Alaska twice, Baja Mexico, Labrador Canada and has crossed the U.S.A. numerous times. I have taken it off-road in WY, CO, WA, WI, and ID. Never had a mechanical issue in the 18 years I have owned it. I am selling it because at age 70 I am no longer riding off-road.




I have modified a number of potentially field-failure parts including the "dohickey" fix, upgraded the fan and starter relays with heavy duty continuous type relays, bypassed the starter and kick stand interlocks, provided a switch operated fan switch in case of a relay failure, modified the kill switch to guard against failure and replaced the vacuum/diaphragm operated petcock with a gravity fed simple on/off petcock. The original color of the KLR was green. I painted the plastic parts with a flat desert sand color when the green became severely sun faded. I will provide the remaining desert sand paint. I have detailed maintenance records for the buyer to review. Clymer service manual provided with sale.
