An all-new 649 cc (39.6 cu in), liquid-cooled, SOHC engine was mated to an aluminum box frame. It weighed 280 lb (130 kg) dry.[3] Team Honda and the XR650R posted many definitive Baja 1000 wins during its production cycle, and many other desert race wins with Scott Summers and Johnny Campbell at the helm. 2001 XR 650R DIRT BIKE FOR SALE. This bike has super low miles/hours. I bought it from a Honda shop on Long Island in 2004, where they had bought it back from its original buyer--with the original rear tire still with tread. Since then I have ridden it on local trails maybe 5 times a year for an hour or two each ride. In recent years I have ridden it once or twice a year. I'm gettin' old! I had the carb rebuilt ($180) at a local Honda shop in preparation for sale. The bike runs awesome. I have "uncorked" it, rejetted, took out intake restrictions as well as exhaust baffle. I have changed oil meticulously. This bike is super fast and powerful, and just want to say, is not for beginner riders. I do not have a title but do have the original buyer's registration as well as my original bill of sale from the Honda shop in 2004. The bike is not street legal. I have some extras which include a new chain still in the box and a new heavy duty rear tube still in the box. Serious inquiries only, please.
