1997 Harley Davidson XL1200C, *As-Is* show winner custom ride! We picked up this clean custom Sportster in a trade for a newer cruiser. Usually we wont consider a bike this old, but it was extra nice and has a gret look. The sale guy (who is a Ducati rider) who rode it the 30 miles from the customer's home back to the shop said, "Damn, dude! That little beast hauls ***!" He's learning. Anyway... It's one of the last Evos out there on the road and is a great runner. She has custom tins and a custom paint job done by Leading Edge Customs here in ABQ. We did notice that just because of her age she's going to need some work in the future. Gaskets (base and head), maybe a shift shaft seal... Mostly stuff you can do yourself if you are comfortable with a wrench. Personally, I would lover the back end too (depending on the weight of the rider) but thats just me. The thing is, we figured we would hold off on the work and p*** the savings on to the next owner which is why we marked her *As Is*. Honestly, I wouldnt hesitate to run this bike out for the weekend, but i probably wouldnt want to do a coast to coast run without looking at those gaskets. Still... No pressing issues on a super clean bike at a great price!
