I am the 2nd owner of this 2001 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. I bought it 9.5 years ago in July 2006. I do not ride much which is why I am selling it BUT I certainly do not need to. Not giving it away. If it does not sell, it can sit as it does now and I will continue to ride at will. Not a big deal to me. I do not need the money to pay any bills etc. Recently serviced and I have the owners manual and clear title. I bought it with the blemishes you see @ 750 miles. There are a few blemishes or scuffs on the hard side bags. 2 minor dents on the fuel tank. Not easily noticed which is why it is hard for me to get them to show up in the last 2 photos. Only 348 miles as I only go a few hundred a year at most. New Battery purchased several months ago. Not sure if tires are original or not but they are in great shape. I will assist with shipping as I can but cost to ship is Buyers responsibility. The Bike starts and rides effortlessly. No issues. It is a lot of Bike for only $3250. I can assure you; there will be no disappointments at this price. If you don't ride much, want a nice bike and not a lot tied up in it; This is the Bike for you.

I shot a video of the bike some time ago to show how she fired up and what her 'voice'. See her on YouTube (about 1 minute). You are welcome to watch her! HISTORY I bought my Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe in 2005 and crossed the US with her, rode her up and down the coast of California, up and down Florida, across the Mojave and Sonora deserts, in the mountains... I never had a single mechanical problem. It has been maintained scrupulously along its life. Its last check-up was done a few months ago (at around 19,100 miles) by Roger, the owner and main mechanic at C&R Cycles in Tucson, and he gave her a clean bill of health except for the cruise control unit which quit working when the power commander module was installed on the bike. I never replaced the cruise control unit but the next owner might want to do so because it's relaxing to have cruise control on a long ride. Her paint is in excellent condition, she shows no rust other than around a few screws. The saddlebags show minor scuff marks. The radiator fairing in the front show small chips due to gravels and road grime. The photo showing the chips on the radiator fairing are taken from very close, they exaggerate the visual impression. She's been always garaged, never dropped, never in any kind of accident. She fires up on first try, needs choke when weather is cold. Her motor is a V4, with short-course pistons, same type of motor as the Yamaha V-Max, torque is nicely distributed and her ride is extremely smooth. This bike rides forever at 85 mph across TX. Very low vibrations, nice motor noise. The aftermarket pipes give it more character than the stock pipes without being too loud. She has a drive shaft, no chain, no belt. White wall tires have plenty of thread. I only have 1 key. GENERAL The Royal Star is extremely reliable, with very low maintenance requirements. In other words, she is very low-cost, contrary to Harleys. She is less costly to maintain than my Honda GoldWing and costs less in insurance. Her average fuel economy is about 34 mpg. She's a low-rider, with a low center of gravity, a very wide seat and long, wide handlebars that will accommodate riders with shorter arms and shorter legs without compromising the comfort of taller riders. She comes with a tall windshield with lower-end protections. The windshield is a breeze to remove with the quick-release mechanism (much better than screws). She also comes with a sissy bar, equipped with a quick release mechanism. Another thing I loved on this bike is the large, hard-case saddlebags. They are deeper and wider than those of the Harley Road King (I tested). GOODIES Over $2,000 in options and aftermarket parts: Straight pipes for a louder voice than stock (Value: $400 + $250 install)Power module to give it a little more 'umph' than the stock modelSissy bar (quick release)Full windshield (quick release)Thick Küryakyn grips with pads Highway footpegsPassing lamps (value: $400 + $250 installation) New battery (changed around 18,000 miles - she only has 19,329 miles). CONCLUSION For $5,700 or OBO, you buy yourself a large, very reliable cruiser bike which will give you and your passenger years of good service at an extremely low cost. Everywhere I went, this bike turned heads and people loved its classic retro looks. People were also impressed with the size of the bike. I am selling because of costly health issues and I have 2 other bikes, including a GoldWing which became my daily commuter and long-distance rider in 2009.
